Serbian accordionist Bogdan Laketic was born in 1994 and is currently based in Vienna. He has played in such world-renowned concert halls as Carnegie Hall, Musikverein Wien, Tonhalle Zurich, Hermitage Theatre Saint Petersburg, Teatro del Lago Chile, ORF Radiokulturhaus and Kolarac Belgrade to name only a few.
Bogdan Laketic is a dynamic chamber musician and member of multiple ensembles of different musical styles. With his Duo Aliada, he pushes the limits of his instrument’s possibilities, regularly performing challenging transcriptions of works written for piano and even full orchestra. Additionally he is an active performer of contemporary music, having worked with such established composers as Wolfgang Rihm and Isabel Mundry. He actively cooperates with young composers and has contributed to the accordion repertoire by premiering more than fifteen works.
He has performed as a soloist or chamber musician at festivals such as Wien Modern, Impuls Graz, Isa International Composition Festival, Chiloe Concertante Festival, Summerwinds Festival, Festival de Morelia Mexico, Johor Bahru International Festival Malaysia, Musical Olympus Festival.
In 2013, as a member of Duo Aliada, he won a Grand Prix at the 12th Fidelio Wettbewerb, chamber music competition held in Vienna. Consequently he was named “2014 Artist of the year” sponsored by HFP Steuerberater Wien. In 2011 he received a prize from the Serbian government for the artistic achievement of winning various national and international accordion competitions in a single year.
Bogdan Laketic has recorded albums with the Austrian ORF and German ARS Produktion. He is a regular member of a LIVE Music Now, an organization founded by Yehudi Menuhin, which allows him to perform concerts with various ensembles. Currently he is mastering his skills with Professor Grzegorz Stopa at the MUK Privatuniversität Wien.
